NEW YORK, June 10 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Tuesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, added 0.16 percent to 99.099 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro lost to 1.1420 U.S. dollars from 1.1428 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound declined to 1.3494 dollars from 1.3563 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 144.96 Japanese yen, higher than 144.56 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar increased to 0.8230 Swiss francs from 0.8213 Swiss francs, and it rose to 1.3690 Canadian dollars from 1.3677 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was up to 9.6032 Swedish Kronor from 9.5872 Swedish Kronor. ■
