LONDON, June 11 (Xinhua) -- England coach Thomas Tuchel remains upbeat despite England's 3-1 defeat to Senegal on Tuesday night that was the first setback in his short time in charge.
England was booed off after defeat in Nottingham as an experimental team put in a poor performance to suffer the country's first ever loss to an African nation.
The loss follows a very unconvincing 1-0 win to Andorra on the weekend to raise big doubts over England's chances of winning next summer's World Cup.
Tuchel has an 18-month contract with England until the end of the World Cup and has been handicapped by so far only having two short international breaks to work with his players, but in an interview with 'TalkSport' radio on Wednesday, he was in a positive frame of mind and even looking beyond the World Cup.
"I will always be tempted to stay because I love the group and I love the opportunity," he said, before admitting that he was also thinking about the 2028 European Championships, which will be held in the British Isles.
"I know what is coming - a huge tournament in England; I will always be tempted. I can tell you that even after the disappointing result (against Senegal) yesterday," Tuchel continued.
"I feel I am in the right place. I enjoy where I am at the moment, I love the new challenge, I wanted the new environment, I feel the support of the people in the federation, I love the group of players, I want to push them and it just feels right," he concluded. ■
