NEW DELHI, June 5 (Xinhua) -- The Indian government has said the country's population census will be conducted in March 2027.
According to the federal home ministry, the nationwide census will begin on March 1, 2027 and the exercise will be done in two phases.
Census in India was due in 2021. The once-in-a-decade population count was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. ■
