JERUSALEM, June 3 (Xinhua) -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Tuesday said in a statement that it had arrested four weapon dealers in Ramallah, the West Bank, overnight.
According to the IDF, soldiers from its Duvdevan undercover unit took part in the operation, which was part of efforts to thwart the smuggling of weapons into the West Bank.
The statement added that on Monday, the IDF arrested 20 wanted suspects in the West Bank, adding that as part of the operation, the forces confiscated a Carlo submachine gun along with other weapons.
The arrested individuals and the seized weapons were transferred to the security forces for further processing, the statement read. ■
