HANOI, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called for proactive measures to ensure sufficient electricity supply during the peak months of 2025 and beyond, Vietnam News Agency reported on Wednesday.
The directive comes after the country's power load hit an all-time high of 51,672 MW at 1:40 p.m. on Monday amid a severe heatwave sweeping across the northern and central regions.
Chinh emphasized the need for regular monitoring and timely updates on weather developments to formulate effective power system operation plans.
He also instructed authorities to maximize the use of reserve water sources for electricity generation and to promote efficient energy use. ■
