VIENTIANE, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Laos' Ministry of Education and Sports, together with development partners, will continue to strengthen cooperation to promote access to quality, equitable, and inclusive education for all across the country.
According to the ministry's report on Tuesday, it will work with development partners to discuss strategies for improving the implementation of the learning and equity acceleration project, with the aim of ensuring it continues to promote equitable, inclusive, and high-quality education throughout Laos.
The project aims to improve learning outcomes in primary grades while strengthening teacher practices, equity, and accountability within Laos' education sector. Its activities focus on fostering prepared and motivated learners and teachers, alongside effective school governance, to enhance teaching and learning quality.
In the first six months of 2025, the project has improved education by enhancing primary students' learning in target areas, strengthening teacher support and monitoring, implementing policies for teachers in remote regions, boosting reading readiness, and expanding early childhood development programs within communities.
In addition, the ministry urged all relevant sectors to continue working closely with stakeholders in 2025 to improve planning, communication, promotion, and monitoring at all levels and ensure benefits quickly reach target communities. ■
