NEW YORK, June 2 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Monday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.63 percent to 98.704 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro added to 1.1441 U.S. dollars from 1.1359 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was up to 1.3540 dollars from 1.3468 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 142.82 Japanese yen, lower than 143.89 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar decreased to 0.8170 Swiss francs from 0.8224 Swiss francs, and it fell to 1.3712 Canadian dollars from 1.3718 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar lost to 9.5267 Swedish Kronor from 9.5775 Swedish Kronor. ■
