VIENTIANE, June 2 (Xinhua) -- The Lao government is partnering with the private sector to conduct a feasibility study for a major expressway project that will connect Lao capital Vientiane to the Lao-Vietnamese border through several key northern provinces.
The expressway will pass through the provinces of Xaysomboun, Xieng Khuang, and Huaphan, ending at the Nam Soy international border checkpoint with Vietnam.
According to the Lao News Agency on Monday, a 24-month period has been allocated to complete a comprehensive feasibility study, which will include technical surveys, route design and construction planning. ■
