BEIRUT, June 1 (Xinhua) -- A Hezbollah member was killed and a civilian injured on Sunday in two separate Israeli drone strikes in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese sources.

In a statement, the Public Health Emergency Operations Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Public Health, confirmed that a civilian was injured in an Israeli strike on a vehicle in the village of Bayt Lif.

The official Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported that an Israeli drone strike targeted a motorcycle on the road to Arnoun, in the southern city of Nabatieh, killing one person.

A Lebanese security source identified the victim as Ahmad Qatbi, a Hezbollah member from the village of Arnoun. No further details were provided.

Separately, the NNA reported that a hostile drone dropped a stun grenade on the village of Ramyah in southern Lebanon. No injuries were reported.

In eastern Lebanon, the NNA reported that a Lebanese woman was transported to Al-Assi Hospital in Hermel after being injured by shrapnel outside her home in the village of Al-Qasr. The injury was caused by stray gunfire originating from Syria.

These incidents come despite a ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel, brokered by the United States and France, which has been in effect since Nov. 27, 2024. The deal brought an end to over a year of cross-border hostilities triggered by the war in Gaza.

Nevertheless, the Israeli military continues to carry out occasional strikes in Lebanon, which it claims are intended to eliminate "Hezbollah threats."
