VILNIUS, May 31 (Xinhua) -- Lithuania's capital Vilnius celebrated its iconic summer dish, "saltibarsciai" (cold beet soup), on Saturday with the annual Cold Beet Soup Festival, also known as the "Vilnius Pink Soup Fest."
The event featured parades with brass bands, dancers, stilt walkers, and the soup mascot, Saltibarstukas.
Festivities at Tymo Market included soup tastings, art displays, and a giant slide, while Kudru Park hosted the "Cold Soup Quilts" textile exhibit with over 70 works.
As evening fell, some city marks would light up in pink to end the one-day celebration. ■
