PRAGUE, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Czech Justice Minister Pavel Blazek announced on Friday his decision to step down from office.
Blazek had been called upon to resign by the opposition over a case involving bitcoins donated to the Ministry of Justice.
"I am not aware of any illegal actions. However, I do not want to damage the reputation of the government or the governing coalition," he said on social media platform X when announcing his resignation.
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said he respects Blazek's decision to resign. "I am convinced that he acted in good faith in the case of the bitcoin auction, and I appreciate his responsible step all the more," he wrote on X. ■
