NEW YORK, May 30 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Friday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, added 0.05 percent to 99.328 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro declined to 1.1359 U.S. dollars from 1.1375 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound lost to 1.3468 dollars from 1.3498 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 143.89 Japanese yen, lower than 144.00 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar was unchanged at 0.8224 with Swiss francs, and it dropped to 1.3718 Canadian dollars from 1.3801 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar climbed to 9.5775 Swedish Kronor from 9.5522 Swedish Kronor. ■
