GABORONE, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Botswana is set to host the 2025 Davis Cup Africa Group V tennis tournament for the second consecutive year this July.
Fifteen African countries and regions, including host nation Botswana, will compete from July 23 to 26 at the National Tennis Center in Gaborone, the country's capital, Botswana Tennis Association President Oaitse Thipe confirmed on Friday.
He said hosting the tournament in back-to-back years reflects the International Tennis Federation's trust in Botswana's ability to deliver high-level events. He also noted that hosting the tournament offers a range of economic benefits and plays a key role in promoting sports tourism.
The Africa Group V field includes 15 teams, among them Botswana, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda. They will compete for two promotion spots to Africa Group IV. ■
