At the 21st China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), Gansu Performing Arts Group unveiled scenes from their immersive stage masterpiece Ancient Sound of Dunhuang, along with a dazzling new segment, Song of a Golden Age.
Blending elements drawn from the murals and sculptures of Dunhuang, the performance features elaborately designed costumes and traditional Chinese instruments, some of which were reconstructed based on mural depictions.
As music filled the air, painted figures seemed to step off the cave walls and into the present.
