SEOUL, May 27 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's consumer sentiment improved for the second consecutive month due to an eased political uncertainty at home, central bank data showed Tuesday.
The composite consumer sentiment index (CCSI), which gauges the sentiment of consumers over economic situation, jumped 8.0 points from a month earlier to 101.8 in May after rising 0.4 points in the previous month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).
It marked the fastest growth in four years and seven months since October 2020 on the back of a mitigated political uncertainty at home. ■
