GAZA -- Hamas has agreed to a proposal presented by U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff for a ceasefire in Gaza that will halt hostilities in the Strip, a Hamas official said on Monday.
The source, who requested anonymity, said the U.S. proposal includes a temporary ceasefire for 60 days, during which a series of humanitarian and political steps will be implemented, paving the way for discussions on the possibility of reaching a permanent truce between the two sides. TEHRAN -- An interim nuclear agreement between Iran and the United States is not on Iran's agenda, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said here Monday.

RIYADH -- Saudi Arabia and Kuwait on Monday jointly announced a new oil discovery in the partitioned zone between the two countries, according to a statement by the Kingdom's Energy Ministry.
The discovery, made by Wafra Joint Operations in the North Wafra Wara-Burgan field, is located about five km north of the main Wafra field. Crude oil flowed from the Wara reservoir in the Wara-Burgan-1 well at a rate exceeding 500 barrels per day, with an API gravity of 26 to 27 degrees, indicating a medium-grade crude. GAZA -- At least 33 Palestinians, including 18 children and six women, were killed and dozens of others injured in an Israeli airstrike early Monday morning targeting the Fahmi Al-Jarjawi school sheltering displaced families, according to Gaza's Civil Defense.
