SINGAPORE, May 27 (Xinhua) -- The overall business receipts of Singapore's services industries, excluding wholesale trade, retail trade, accommodation and food services, rose by 6.1 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, the Singapore Department of Statistics said on Tuesday.
All industries except for recreation and personal services registered year-on-year growth in turnover.
The real estate sector posted a strong performance, with business receipts climbing 8.6 percent, largely driven by increased earnings from real estate developers and property agencies. The information and communications industry followed with a 7.5 percent rise in revenue, mainly supported by software publishing and information services such as internet search engines.
In contrast, the recreation and personal services sector contracted by 2.7 percent, primarily due to weaker performance in the gaming and attractions segments.
On a quarter-on-quarter basis, overall business receipts on a non-seasonally adjusted basis declined by 3.7 percent in the first quarter. ■
