SINGAPORE, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's household net worth grew by 8.1 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, marking a slower pace than the previous quarter, the Singapore Department of Statistics said on Monday.

Asset growth eased to 7.8 percent in the first quarter, down from 8.0 percent in the fourth quarter of 2024, continuing a two-quarter trend of slowing expansion, the department noted in its report.

The moderation was mainly attributed to slower growth in residential property assets, it said.

In contrast, household liabilities rose for the sixth consecutive quarter to 5.2 percent in the first quarter of 2025. This was largely driven by faster growth in mortgage and personal loans.
