TUNIS, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian customs authorities have seized 122,500 narcotic pills, more than 113 kg of cannabis, and 13 kg of cocaine since the start of 2025, Tunisian National Radio on Monday quoted an official as saying.
Chokri Al-Jabri, spokesperson for the General Directorate of Customs, told the radio that the amount of seized cocaine was "particularly alarming," warning that its quantity often doubles once mixed with other substances for street distribution.
Al-Jabri emphasized that customs officers across all border points remain on high alert to protect citizens from the dangers of drug trafficking.
He also highlighted several recent anti-drug operations at air, land, and sea borders, which have resulted in the interception of substantial drug shipments. ■
