Brunei customs officials attend World Customs Organization meeting

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 26 (Xinhua) -- The Royal Brunei Customs and Excise Department took part in a global meeting recently to enhance cooperation on customs matters such as trade activities towards development in the Asia Pacific region.

Senior customs officers, including Muhammad Azizil Hakim Brahim, acting controller of Brunei's Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED) participated in the 26th World Customs Organization (WCO) Asia/Pacific Regional Heads of Customs Administration conference held in Hong Kong, south China, the Department said in a press release on Monday.

The meeting also highlighted current reviews and updates of the WCO strategic plan, reports from the regional offices encompassing capacity building programs, compliance and enforcement operations.

Brunei's Royal Customs and Excise Department will host the 34th ASEAN Director-Generals of Customs Meeting from June 3-5, 2025, in the Brunei capital of Bandar Seri Begawan.
