PYONGYANG, May 22 (Xinhua) -- A "serious accident" occurred during the launching ceremony of a newly-built destroyer of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Wednesday, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Thursday morning.
The accident was a "criminal act caused by absolute carelessness, irresponsibility and unscientific empiricism," said Kim Jong Un, top leader of the DPRK, who was watching the ceremony at the scene.
He ordered that the restoration of the destroyer be completed "unconditionally" before the June Plenary Meeting of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee, said the report. ■
