COLOMBO, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lankan police arrested two suspects on Thursday morning after seizing more than 101 kg of heroin during a raid in Weeraketiya in the country's Southern Province.
Police spokesperson Buddhika Manatunga said officers discovered the drugs packed and hidden inside a house, acting on information provided to the Weeraketiya Police. The suspects are currently being questioned.
In recent months, Sri Lankan police have confiscated large quantities of illegal drugs as part of the government's ongoing campaign to combat the drug menace. ■
