KABUL, May 22 (Xinhu8a) -- Kabul Municipality has started construction of the first ever flyover bridge in Kabul city to reduce traffic mess in Afghanistan's national capital, spokesman of the body Nematullah Barikzai said.
"At a cost of 1.5 billion afghani (around 21.5 million U.S. dollars) the construction of the flyover would be completed within two years," the state-run Radio and Television of Afghanistan (RTA) quoted Barikzai on Thursday as saying.
Kabul, a city with a population of some 6 million has been facing variety of problems including traffic jam on congested roads, power shortage, daily loud shedding and water scarcity. ■
