KATHMANDU, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Nepal's foreign trade grew by 18.37 percent in the last 10 months of the current 2024-25 fiscal year as the country witnessed a surge in both exports and imports, the Department of Customs said on Wednesday.
Growing economic activities were helping reverse a decline in foreign trade in the last two fiscal years and contributing to growth in 2024-25 which began in mid-July 2024, the department said.
During the past 10 months of 2024-25, exports and imports rose by 72.71 percent and 13.11 percent to 217.91 billion Nepali rupees (1.59 billion U.S. dollars) and 1,414.18 billion rupees (10.3 billion dollars), respectively.
India and China had remained Nepal's largest trading partners, noted the department. ■
