Indonesia's new capital secures 224 mln USD investment from 6 firms

JAKARTA, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's new capital, Nusantara, has secured an additional investment worth 3.65 trillion rupiah (around 224 million U.S. dollars) from six private companies, both domestic and international, according to the Nusantara Capital Authority.

The cooperation agreements were signed on Wednesday by the head of the Nusantara Capital Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, and representatives from the six companies in the new capital.

"We would like to express our gratitude for the attention and trust of all of you to invest in the new capital," said Basuki in his remarks.

As of April 2025, Basuki added, the total ongoing investment in Nusantara has reached 62.08 trillion rupiah (around 3.81 billion dollars) from 42 companies, while infrastructure project tenders are underway to improve accessibility in the central government core area.

Agung Wicaksono, deputy for funding and investment at the Nusantara Capital Authority, noted that the six investors operate in sectors including culinary, hospitality, education, retail, construction, and property, and will develop various facilities in Nusantara.
