BEIJING, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index flat at 3,367.58 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.08 percent lower at 10,171.09 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at about 1.086 trillion yuan (about 151 billion U.S. dollars), slightly down from the previous trading day.
Shares related to port, shipping, real estate, and food processing led the gains, while those in humanoid robotics, electrical machinery, and liquor sectors were among the biggest losers.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.33 percent to close at 2,032.76 points Monday. ■
