TOKYO, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Two men were found collapsed on a sidewalk in Japan's Osaka on Monday morning and were later confirmed dead, as one man is believed to have fallen from a high-rise building and fatally struck another man who was passing by on a bicycle, local media reported.

Emergency services received a call shortly before 11:30 a.m. local time reporting that a person had fallen, and a cyclist was also involved, according to national broadcaster NHK.

Police found two men lying on the sidewalk and both were unconscious. They were later pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.

Investigators believe the 70-year-old man, a resident of a nearby 44-story tower apartment, fell from the building and accidentally struck the man riding a bicycle below, according to the report.

The incident occurred roughly 400 meters west of Tenjinbashisuji Rokuchome Station on the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line, in an area lined with residential buildings.
