BEIJING, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.17 percent to 3,374.87 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.13 percent lower at 10,288.08 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at approximately 1.29 trillion yuan (about 179.19 billion U.S. dollars), down from 1.31 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to ports and banking led the gains, while those in the military industry and commercial spaceflight sector were among the biggest losers.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.12 percent to close at 2,062.26 points. ■
