Chinese shares close higher Monday

BEIJING, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.82 percent to 3,369.24 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.72 percent higher at 10,301.16 points. ■
