WINDHOEK, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Namibia has unveiled a comprehensive 51-man national training squad that will meet for a training camp and a series of warm-up matches throughout June.
As announced by the Namibia Rugby Union over the weekend, this crucial phase of preparation is a direct lead-up to its July 2025 Rugby Africa Cup campaign in Uganda, which also serves as the primary qualification tournament for the 2027 Rugby World Cup to be held in Australia.
Namibia's road to the Rugby Africa Cup and potential World Cup qualification began earlier in the year with a preparation match against South African regional side Boland in February.
The June schedule features a challenging line-up of warm-up fixtures, all set to take place in Namibia.
Namibia is to face Uganda on June 14, followed by South African professional side, the Airlink Pumas on June 21 and an international test match against Italy on June 27.
The Rugby Africa Cup 2025 is set for July 6 to 20 in Uganda. ■
