NEW YORK, May 9 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Friday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.3 percent to 100.338 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro rose to 1.1259 U.S. dollars from 1.1225 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound climbed to 1.3315 dollars from 1.3251 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 145.27 Japanese yen, lower than 145.88 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar was down to 0.8311 Swiss francs from 0.8312 Swiss francs, and it was up to 1.3930 Canadian dollars from 1.3928 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar fell to 9.7062 Swedish Kronor from 9.7340 Swedish Kronor. ■
