ANKARA, May 5 (Xinhua) -- Türkiye's annual inflation rate dipped slightly in April to 37.86 percent, down from 38.1 percent in March, according to the latest data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Monday.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 3.18 percent in April. The data shows that education, housing, and health were among the sectors with the highest monthly price increases, while clothing and footwear experienced a seasonal decline.
Türkiye has been grappling with rising inflation for years. The annual inflation rate slowed to 38.1 percent in March, marking its lowest since December 2021.
The country's central bank raised its key interest rate by 350 points in April, from 42.5 percent to 46 percent, reversing its previous easing cycle after the slowing in the disinflation process. ■
