KATHMANDU, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Nepal welcomed 116,490 foreign tourists in April, a record high for the month, the Nepal Tourism Board said.
The number marked a 4.6-percent rise over the previous year and a 6.5-percent surge over April 2019, the board said in its latest report.
While the total number rose, visitors from India and China, major sources of tourists for Nepal, declined 14 percent and 7.3 percent, respectively, over April 2024.
Nepal received 415,048 tourists in total in the first four months of this year, the board noted. ■
