NEW YORK, May 2 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Friday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.22 percent to 100.029 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro added to 1.1300 U.S. dollars from 1.1286 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound decreased to 1.3274 U.S. dollars from 1.3278 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 145.03 Japanese yen, lower than 145.68 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar fell to 0.8271 Swiss francs from 0.8316 Swiss francs, and it was down to 1.3813 Canadian dollars from 1.3848 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar declined to 9.6584 Swedish kronor from 9.7566 Swedish kronor. ■
