NEW YORK, May 2 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended higher on Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 564.47 points, or 1.39 percent, to 41,317.43. The S&P 500 added 82.53 points, or 1.47 percent, to 5,686.67. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 266.99 points, or 1.51 percent, to 17,977.73.
All of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with communication services and financials leading the gainers by going up 2.30 percent and 2.15 percent, respectively. Consumer staples posted the weakest growth, up by 0.60 percent. ■
