KABUL -- Two children lost their lives and seven others were injured after the roof of a mud house collapsed in south Afghanistan's Kandahar province, a local official said on Friday.
The tragedy occurred on Thursday night while the families of the children were gathering for a dinner party on the outskirts of Police District 15, Kandahar City, the capital of the province, said the provincial director for the disaster management authority Mullah Abdul Salam. MOSCOW -- Russian Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, deputy chief of the General Staff's main operations directorate, was killed Friday in a car explosion in Balashikha, Moscow region, said the Russian Investigative Committee.

ISLAMABAD -- At least four paramilitary troops were killed and three others injured in an attack in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province on Friday, official sources said.
