TASHKENT, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Uzbekistan's Central Bank said Thursday it will maintain the policy rate at 14 percent to bring down inflation.
"The Board of the Central Bank decided to keep the policy rate unchanged at 14.0 percent per annum," the bank said in a statement.
The headline inflation in the country has been growing this year, reaching 10.3 percent annually in March.
"The Central Bank will continue to maintain sufficiently tight monetary conditions to ensure that inflation gradually declines to the 5 percent target level in the medium term," the bank said. ■
