YANGON, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 2.2 kg of heroin in Sagaing region, the state-run daily Myanma Alinn reported on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched a motorcycle in Kalay town of Sagaing region on April 19, and confiscated the heroin and arrested one suspect, the report said.
The seized drug was valued at 110 million kyats (about 52,380 U.S. dollars), it added.
The suspect has been charged under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
An investigation was underway, the report said. ■
