MINSK, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Retail trade in Belarus grew 10.8 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, reaching 22.9 billion Belarusian rubles (about 7.1 billion U.S. dollars), the country's statistical committee said on Wednesday.
In the quarter, one-day retail sale volume per capita was 27.9 Belarusian rubles, up from 23.7 Belarusian rubles in the same period of 2024.
Retail turnover of trade organizations, which accounted for 95.6 percent of the total retail nationwide, amounted to 21.9 billion Belarusian rubles or 111.6 percent of that in 2024.
Wholesale turnover rose to 42.9 billion Belarusian rubles or 96.9 percent of the one in 2024.
The turnover of public catering hit 1.6 billion Belarusian rubles or 105.5 percent of that in 2024.
