NEW YORK, April 11 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar softened in late trading on Friday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.76 percent to 100.102 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro was up to 1.1312 U.S. dollars from 1.1215 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound climbed to 1.3060 U.S. dollars from 1.2982 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 143.81 Japanese yen, lower than 144.58 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar declined to 0.8170 Swiss francs from 0.8242 Swiss francs, and it decreased to 1.3889 Canadian dollars from 1.3986 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar lost to 9.7920 Swedish kronor from 9.8491 Swedish kronor. ■
