JERUSALEM, April 7 (Xinhua) -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Monday that it arrested 15 Palestinians overnight in operations in several locations in the West Bank.
According to the statement, the arrests, made during a joint operation with the Border Police, were carried out in the villages of Qalandiya and Jalazone, as well as Al-Amari refugee camps, all located near Ramallah north of Jerusalem, in addition to Hebron and Beit Ummar in the southern West Bank, and Qalqilya and Tulkarm in the west.
Three weapons and cash were confiscated in the operations, which, along with the detainees, were handed over to the Israeli police, the IDF said, adding that there were no casualties among Israeli forces during the operations.
Earlier on Monday, the IDF said it had shot dead a Palestinian who was throwing rocks onto a highway in the town of Turmus Ayya. ■
