NEW YORK, April 4 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar climbed in late trading on Friday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, increased by 0.93 percent to 103.024 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro lost to 1.0943 U.S. dollars from 1.1037 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to 1.2881 U.S. dollars from 1.3095 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 146.91 Japanese yen, higher than 146.43 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar was down to 0.8606 Swiss francs from 0.8611 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.4238 Canadian dollars from 1.4084 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar rose to 10.0390 Swedish kronor from 9.7865 Swedish kronor. ■
