NEW YORK, April 3 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar softened in late trading on Thursday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 1.67 percent to 102.073 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro was up to 1.1037 U.S. dollars from 1.0854 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound rose to 1.3095 U.S. dollars from 1.2979 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 146.43 Japanese yen, lower than 149.93 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar fell to 0.8611 Swiss francs from 0.8824 Swiss francs, and it lost to 1.4084 Canadian dollars from 1.4325 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was down to 9.7865 Swedish kronor from 9.9086 Swedish kronor. ■
