BEIJING, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Sixteen players including Zhao Weilun, Wang Junjie and Wang Haoran have been selected to attend a ten-day training camp of the Chinese men's basketball team, the Chinese Basketball Association announced here on Tuesday.

Zhao, Wang Junjie and Wang Haoran had played for China at the FIBA under 19 World Cup in 2023 while the roster also includes Huan Sifeng, Feng Ao and Zhu Zheng, members of the Chinese U-19 national team preparing for this year's Under 19 World Cup in Switzerland from June 28 to July 6.

"We have selected players who have just finished their CBA league season, players who are playing overseas and players from the Under 19 national team and the campus," said China head coach Guo Shiqiang. "We would like to evaluate the young players and look for more talents in preparations of the World Cup in 2027 and Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028."

Li Ang, 34, assistant coach of the College Park Skyhawks, the NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, has been included in the coaching team.

"It's the first appearance for Mr. Li to be recruited into the national team's coaching group. He not only has experience in youth development and as an assistant coach with a CBA club, but also boasts coaching credentials in high-level overseas league. We welcome him to the coaching team and hopefully there will be more and more young and talented coaches working for the national team in the future."

The training camp is slated for April 7 to 17.
