BAGHDAD, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Iraq's Foreign Ministry on Sunday expressed solidarity with Myanmar following a powerful earthquake that struck the country.
In a statement, the ministry voiced Iraq's support for Myanmar's government and people during the crisis, emphasizing the need for international cooperation to address the disaster's impact.
The ministry also extended condolences to the victims' families and wished a swift recovery for the injured.
The 7.9-magnitude earthquake, which hit Myanmar on Friday, has killed around 1,700 people, according to the latest report from local authorities. ■
