MOSCOW, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Friday that it had thwarted an attempted terrorist attack in central Moscow.
A previously convicted Russian national was arrested on charges of plotting a terrorist attack in an office building, local media reported, citing the FSB.
The suspect "planned to detonate an improvised explosive device in a crowded area in the interests of Ukraine's special services," the FSB said, adding that he had confessed during an interrogation.
A criminal case has been launched, the FSB said. ■
