KABUL, March 28 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's central bank will auction 15 million U.S. dollars on Saturday to maintain the stability of the country's national currency afghani, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported Friday.
"The bidders, including moneychangers and private banks, should deposit the necessary money in cash in the form of afghani in the central bank, the Da Afghanistan Bank," the statement said.
The afghani has been tumbling against foreign currencies, especially the U.S. dollar.
The Afghan interim government, since assuming power in August 2021, has taken a series of measures to maintain the stability of the afghani against foreign currencies. ■
