TEHRAN, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein have exchanged views on Israel's renewed attacks against Gaza and Lebanon.

In a phone conversation on Monday, they discussed the latest developments in the Middle East region, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

Iran's foreign minister condemned the continuation of Israel's "genocide in Gaza, frequent aggressions against Lebanon as well as killing of innocent women and children," saying they were being committed "in flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreements with Hamas and Hezbollah and with the U.S. green light."

Araghchi called on the international community, especially the regional and Muslim states, to take immediate actions to stop the "crimes and aggressions" and prevent the insecurity's spillover into the entire Middle East region.

He condemned the United States for "abusing" military bases and the airspace of regional nations to carry out "acts of aggression." He said that all countries should take necessary measures to safeguard sovereignty and prevent foreign military forces from exploiting their territories and facilities to jeopardize the security of other states.

Regarding the U.S. "illegal" sanctions on Iran's oil industry, Araghchi said that the U.S. officials' anti-Iran claims and accusations were "unfounded and lacked credibility." He called on the neighboring and friendly countries to remain vigilant against U.S. attempts to fuel division and destabilize regional unity.

The Iraqi foreign minister, for his part, warned of the "precarious" consequence of Israel's "aggressions" against Gaza, Lebanon and Syria, voicing deep concern over escalating regional tensions.

Hussein called for enhanced regional coordination to address the humanitarian crisis facing the "oppressed" Palestinian people and to prevent further destabilization in the Middle East.
