SINGAPORE, March 26 (Xinhua) -- A 76-year-old man died after being hit by a minibus in western Singapore on Wednesday morning, local media reported.
Police said the 74-year-old driver was arrested for driving without due care and attention, causing death. The accident occurred on Holland Avenue, where the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.
A resident told local media that many elderly individuals in the area have mobility difficulties and often choose to cross the road at convenient locations rather than walking to traffic lights. ■
