LONDON, March 20 (Xinhua) -- Chelsea has completed the signings of midfielders Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo from Sporting Lisbon for a combined fee of around 62.4 million pounds (81 million U.S. dollars).
The Portuguese club has confirmed the sales, explaining that 17-year-old Quenda will remain with the team until the end of June 2026 after breaking into its first team this season.
Essugo is currently on loan with La Liga side Las Palmas. He will be able to join Chelsea this summer and could form part of Enzo Maresca's squad for the FIFA Club World Cup which starts in June. ■
